Before installing the rolling mill bearing, make full preparations. This includes checking whether the model, specification and quantity of the bearing are consistent with the requirements of the drawing, ensuring that the bearing is not damaged or rusted, and cleaning the bearing and its installation environment to remove impurities such as oil, dust, etc. Prepare the necessary installation tools, such as special wrenches, hammers, heaters, etc., as well as measuring tools such as vernier calipers and micrometers, so that precise measurement and adjustment can be made during the installation process.
Before installing the bearing, it is also necessary to check the main shaft, bearing seat and other components of the rolling mill to ensure that their size, shape and surface quality meet the design requirements, especially to check the inner hole and end face of the bearing seat to ensure that there are no cracks or burrs, and remove any foreign matter that may affect the installation of the bearing.
The bearing is installed as follows.
Heating installation: For large or heavy bearings, the heating installation method is usually used due to the large interference fit. Place the bearing in the heater and heat it evenly to an appropriate temperature (generally 80-100°C), let the inner diameter of the bearing expand, and then quickly install it on the main shaft. Note that the heating temperature should not be too high to avoid damaging the bearing.
Cold press installation: For small and medium-sized bearings, if the interference fit is not large, the cold press installation method can be used. Use special tools to press the bearing into the bearing seat smoothly to ensure that the matching surfaces between the bearing and the shaft and the bearing seat are in uniform contact.
Adjust the clearance: After installation, it is necessary to measure and adjust the bearing clearance. The size of the clearance directly affects the operating performance and life of the bearing. According to the design requirements, use the measuring tool to accurately measure the bearing clearance and make necessary adjustments.
After installation, a comprehensive inspection should be carried out to ensure that the bearing is installed correctly and tightened reliably. Check whether the bearing rotates flexibly and whether there is any jamming; check whether the bearing fits tightly with the shaft and the bearing seat, and whether there is any looseness or gap; check the lubrication of the bearing to ensure that the lubricant is sufficient and evenly distributed.
