The core of Needle Roller Bearing for Small Ends of Connecting Rods is its internal needle roller design. These needle rollers are usually made of high-strength, wear-resistant materials, such as bearing steel, and are installed between the inner and outer rings of the bearing in a closely arranged manner. When the engine is running, the small end of the connecting rod constantly changes its position as the piston moves up and down, and at the same time produces relative motion with the crankshaft.
1. In this dynamic process, needle rollers play a vital role. They roll between the small end of the connecting rod and the bearing seat like rows of tiny wheels, converting the sliding friction that may have been generated into rolling friction. This transformation greatly reduces the friction coefficient, reduces energy loss, and extends the service life of the bearing. The rolling of the needle rollers also disperses the radial load acting on the bearing, avoiding the occurrence of local overload.
2. The compact structural design of Needle Roller Bearing allows it to be easily installed in the space-constrained position of the small end of the connecting rod. Although it is small in size, it achieves a high load-bearing capacity through the collective effect of the needle rollers. Each needle roller can bear part of the load and evenly distribute the load to the entire bearing, thereby improving the overall load-bearing capacity and stability of the bearing.
3. In order to ensure the smooth operation of needle roller bearings, lubrication is an indispensable part. Inside the engine, the lubricating oil is transported to the bearing through a specific oil path to form a thin oil film. This oil film not only reduces the direct contact area between the needle roller and the bearing seat, reduces friction and wear, but also plays a role in heat dissipation. As the needle roller rolls, the lubricating oil is continuously brought in and out of the bearing, taking away the heat generated by friction and maintaining the normal working temperature of the bearing.
